In partnership with Zumbi dos Palmares — the only internationally recognized Black university in Brazil — we created The Black Box: a book
that tells the untold stories of Black history that should be in school textbooks, but aren’t.
Using the map of Quilombo dos Palmares, Brazil’s greatest symbol of Black resistance, we developed a generative code that transformed it
into thousands of particles — embedding the DNA of Black Brazil’s history into every illustration.
The book also became education: each chapter was integrated into the university’s syllabus, ensuring that these stories will finally
be studied, remembered, and celebrated. At last, the Black Box has been opened.
